_S_t_a_n_d_a_r_d_i_z_e_d _m_o_n_t_h_l_y _p_r_e_c_i_p_i_t_a_t_i_o_n _f_o_r _A_u_g_u_s_t _1_9_6_3 _i_n_t_e_h _R_o_c_k_y _M_o_u_n_t_a_i_n

_D_e_s_c_r_i_p_t_i_o_n:

     This is a useful spatial data set of moderate size consisting of
     800  locations The list has  components:

_U_s_a_g_e:

     data(precip)

_A_r_g_u_m_e_n_t_s:

       x: Longitude-latitude postion of monitoring stations.  

       y: Standardized precipitaton. The square root of precip has 
          been standardized by subtracting the 30 year ( 1960-1989)
          mean and  dividing  by the standard deviation. This is a
          simple way to transform to a process   that closer to a
          stationary Gaussian field. 

    x.cv: Additional locations for cross-validation. The  locations
          weere generated as a space-filling type design.  

    y.cv: values for cross validation
